About the site

BradlyKopp.com was created by Team Daedalus during the Accessibility Internet Rally for South By Southwest (SXSW), known as AIR Interactive for ARTS. Using the concepts of universal design and web standards, we have done our best to make this information usable on a variety of devices, including assistive technology, portable handheld devices and multiple platforms and browsers. (Read more about web standards and how and why to upgrade your browser.) The following are some of the accessibility and usability features we are implementing:

Text and Textual Equivalents;
Cascading Style Sheets to control the Web site's style and layout;
Hypertext links that make sense when read out of context;
Consistent use of headings, lists and Web site structure;
Summarizing material or using the attribute for content that may be difficult to access;
Providing alternatives in cases where content produced by scripts, applets or plug-ins may not be accessible or supported;
Avoiding the use of frames;
Incorporating links that allow non-visual browsers to skip to Local Navigation and Main Content on pages. Links that skip to Local Navigation, if present, direct users to links that relate to information on that page. Links that skip to Main Content direct users to the main content of a Web page.

Team Daedalus was formed three years ago to support accessible web design and the efforts of Knowbility and because, let's face it, girls just want to have fun.

Marilyn Fenn

Marilyn Fenn Marilyn says, "As a little kid, I had dreamed of becoming an artist when I grew up, and had seen a segment on Captain Kangeroo about the SAIC. Kathy Keller

Kathy Keller Kathy is Accessibility Coordinator/Web Developer for Texas Parks and Wildlife. She is also a beach goddess, greyhound foster-mom and tattoo-fetishist. She has lived in Austin since 1981, she practices Yoga, and her entry in the 2003 SXSW Interactive competition was www.passporttotexas.org. Kathy's personal site is www.wasabiwebdesign.com.

Sandy McCrory

Sandy McCrory only had one goal growing up in Houston, Texas - to move to Austin as soon as possible. Her parents gave her a set of suitcases for her high school graduation and except for a year in London, she's been here ever since. Currently a partner in www.agitproperties.com, Sandy divides her time between promoting a thought-provoking line of progressive merchandise and being the mom of two teenage sons.

Susan White

Susan White Susan is a Web Designer/Developer for Texas Parks and Wildlife. She has a background in biology, painting and drawing, but has also moonlighted as a columnist, picture framer and art restorationist in Athens, Georgia. She likes gargoyles and big dogs, and is the only Aggie on the team. Susan's entry in this year's SXSW Interactive competition is www.worldbirdingcenter.org
